The Revd Oliver Ross
Oliver is Rector of St Olave Hart Street and Guild Vicar of St Katharine Cree. He is also Area Dean of the City.
After he graduated in African history and social anthropology from the School for African and Oriental Studies at London University, he and his wife, Lizzi, taught for two years at a girls’ school in South West Uganda. Following ordination in the UK and curacies in Preston and Central London, Oliver was Vicar of Holy Trinity Hounslow for 12 years. He was appointed to his present incumbencies in 2006 and appointed Area Dean in 2009.
Oliver and Lizzi have three children and come to the City with a love of sharing the riches of the Christian life in a variety of ways, not least the arts. Oliver is a keen photographer as well as being a lecturer in art history, while Lizzi is a professional choreographer.

Phil Manning

After 25 years as a property lawyer, Phil, as Church Manager based at St Olave’s, now enjoys putting his experience to work in the fascinating historic setting of the City of London.
He is likely to be the first point of contact for most people visiting St Olave’s or getting in touch with us to organise services and events or with an interest in the church’s architecture and history. He also manages St Olave’s Parish Hall on Mark Lane as well as St Katharine Cree and its facilities.
Phil is a keen contemporary percussionist and has been an active musician in church and secular settings for over 30 years.

Jonny Davies
Jonny is Director of Music at St Olave’s and at St Katharine Cree, as well as a member of the Parochial Church Council of St Olave’s.
Having been Queen's Chorister at St George's Chapel, Windsor, he went on to be organist at St Mary's Church, Addington. He then took a place as Music Scholar at Brasenose College, Oxford.
At St Olave's he provides music for services and other events and directs The St Olave Singers, the amateur choir, as well as The St Olave Choral Scholars, a small group of young professional singers.
His role is also to assist those planning special services, such as weddings and memorials, in the choice of appropriate music.
He would welcome enquiries for those wishing to join The St Olave Singers, where there are particular openings for altos and male voices.

John Ewington
John Ewington OBE is Organist at St Katharine Cree. He founded The City Singers, who in recent years have collaborated with The St Olave Singers for seasonal musical events. John is General Secretary and Secretary to the Council of The Guild of Church Musicians.
Tom Butler

Tom (left), assisted by Michael Gammie, organises the lunchtime classical music recitals at St Olave’s. These take place throughout the year (except in August) and mainly on Wednesdays and Thursdays but occasionally on other days. He is also responsible for some of our evening concerts.
Tom's and Michael’s extensive network of contacts among performers, music schools and colleges ensures that our concerts are of a consistently high standard, whether involving established artists or those in earlier stages of their careers.
